Beyond the Textbook: Anwar’s Healing From 16-year Scalp Bumps After the Surgery

The disease affecting Anwar’s scalp is considered one of the most severe cases of scalp bumps or folliculitis decalvans. It is a persistent inflammatory condition that causes destruction of hair follicles and typically results in lesions that are both painful and disfiguring.

Many patients first notice painful bumps, patches of hair loss, or scalp sores that ooze, but Anwar’s condition had progressed far beyond the typical pattern seen in most FD cases.

Unlike the majority of patients who suffer from the more common presentation of tufted folliculitis, Anwar’s disease involved extensive inflammation and scarring. Large areas of his scalp were affected by keloid like plaques and crusting that created both physical and functional problems.

A Non-Traditional Approach to a Complex Problem

Dr. Sanusi Umar recognized the unusual nature of the case and therefore approached the condition from an alternative perspective.

Dr. Umar worked toward an individualized treatment plan. This includes the goal of reducing inflammatory activity within the scalp, promoting normal behavior of healthy tissue and to create an optimal environment for successful targeted surgical interventions.

During surgery, Dr. U gained control over the disease process that had been unresponsive to traditional treatments for many years, removing the diseased tissue that had formed deep inflammatory plaques and scarring alopecia.

Dr. Sanusi Umar has successfully removed the diseased portion of Anwar’s scalp using a non-traditional approach.

A Step Forward in Understanding Severe Disease

Anwar’s case demonstrates the reality that severe forms of scalp infections may not be successfully treated using standardized approaches.

Through his treatment of Anwar, the Bumpunator, Dr. Umar, continues to illustrate how personalized strategies based on current evidence can offer real hope to patients suffering from complicated and extremely resistant forms of this disease.

His work highlights that even in cases involving extreme inflammation, deep follicular damage, and long term disfigurement, meaningful recovery is still possible.

Anwar’s scalp bumps were removed and he is now healed after the surgery. Now, he is ready to show the excellent progress of his now healthy scalp.
