Hair follicles lie approximately 1 – 5 millimeters under the skin surface, depending on the location of the hair on the body. Found at the bottom of the hair follicle is a bulge. Just above the bulge is the bulb. These are the follicle areas that control hair growth and are the areas that need to be selectively damaged to stop future hair growth.
