Let This Be The Last Time

Prior to his operation, Anwar had two main concerns — managing pain and ensuring a successful outcome. With numerous operations having taken place previously for Anwar, he simply wanted a permanent solution to the recurring lesions and the related discomfort.

It is reasonable for patients with Anwar’s scalp condition to have such concerns. He currently has Folliculitis Decalvans (FD) with an underlying condition of Acne Keloidalis Nuchae (AKN).

Effective pain management allows patients to recover properly and gives them confidence in their recovery. It is equally important to be assured that this surgical intervention has a high degree of efficacy and long lasting results.

The Recovery Process from Both a Cosmetic and Functional Perspective

After the removal of the lesion, Dr. Sanusi Umar described that the next challenge is how the scalp heals. Once the diseased tissue is removed, a defect will form. This defect is naturally positioned at a greater depth than the surrounding tissue. If the defect is not managed properly, the result can be a noticeable depression on the scalp.

To manage this, Dr. Umar and his team worked toward controlling the healing of the wound, which is the area where the lesion existed. They did this by utilizing specific agents and proprietary methods developed within the clinic to guide the natural regeneration of new tissue. Eventually, the tissue will grow back to the same level as the rest of the scalp, producing a smooth, even surface.

Commitment to Re-establishing Normal Function and Appearance

The Bumpinator’s ultimate objective is to provide both functional recovery and aesthetic symmetry. He successfully did this to help Anwar through the use of precise surgical techniques, backed with years of experience and research.

For Anwar, the goal of his treatment is not just to heal him — the goal is to restore normal function, confidence, and freedom from the recurrent disease he experienced for years.
