Frequently Asked Questions
Do hair transplants last forever, or will they fall out?
Generally, if your surgeon takes the grafts from areas with permanent hair, the transplanted hair should not fall out. However, there have been instances when transplanted hair has been known to thin out. Common reasons for this will include the following:
- Possible grafting of non-permanent hair,
- Scarring alopecia or some other autoimmune disease that attacks or weakens the hair follicles,
- Rarely, there may be no apparent cause.
Will people be able to tell I got a hair transplant when they stand close by?
Hair transplants aim to have a permanent and unnoticeable solution to hair loss, unlike wigs, hairpieces, etc. If you go to a skilled hair transplant surgeon, they should be able to make sure your transplants blend in with the rest of your hair seamlessly. That being said, it’s not impossible for someone with a trained eye to notice transplants if they’re standing close to you.
