When a keloid persists after prior care
Robert’s case called for thoughtful, physician-led care rather than a one-size-fits-all response. The short video focuses on the visible before and after, while the accompanying clinical context explains that the scarring involved the back of his head and his left ear.

Collaborative, individualized treatment
Through collaborative care, I treated the keloid on the back of Robert’s head using my surgical techniques, including the patented Athena Suture Kit. Dr. Sandra Lee treated the keloid on Robert’s left ear. Each physician’s role addressed a different area while contributing to the care shown in the final result.
The case also underscores a broader principle: every keloid case is different, and every treatment plan should be individualized. Robert’s history and prior procedures were part of the context for the approach taken in his care.
What Robert’s before and after can show
Robert’s result represents one patient’s experience. It does not predict how another person’s scar will respond, but it illustrates the value of careful assessment and a treatment plan shaped around the individual case.
