Acne Keloidalis Nuchae: A Patient Compares Surgical Recovery

For this patient, a previous surgical recovery had set a difficult expectation. His experience with Dr. Sanusi Umar felt very different, from his initial concern about local anesthesia to an outcome he says was better than expected.

Recovery was the part this patient remembered most clearly from earlier surgery. He describes gauze changes in which the material would become stuck to his skin, and he recalls that recovery as painful. In this short video, his comparison provides a patient-centered perspective within an acne keloidalis nuchae treatment context.

A Painful Experience With Previous Surgery

The patient begins by looking back at other surgeries. During recovery, he says, changing the gauze could be difficult because it would stick to his skin. That experience shaped what he expected when facing another procedure.

“The recovery in that one was painful,” he says.

Nervous About Local Anesthesia

When the patient came under Dr. Sanusi Umar’s care, he says he was nervous after learning that local anesthesia would be used. His account of the experience, however, is notably different from the recovery he described before.

“With Dr. Umar, it was much better,” he says. He describes the experience as painless and adds that the recovery “was okay.”

The patient’s comments stay focused on his own experience. They do not establish that every procedure or recovery will feel the same, but they explain why this particular comparison mattered to him.

An Outcome Better Than He Expected

The strongest conclusion comes from the patient himself: the result “came out better than what I expected.” The approved caption echoes that comparison, contrasting weeks of discomfort after his past surgery with his experience under Dr. Umar’s care.

The short video pairs the patient’s later appearance with his statement that recovery under Dr. Umar was okay and the outcome exceeded his expectations.

The video closes with a broader point that many surgeries may not address both the root cause and the aesthetics of the final outcome. Within this short account, the patient’s own comparison remains the central takeaway: he entered with concerns shaped by a painful prior recovery and came away describing a much better experience.
