After experiencing Norwood 6-level hair loss, this Manhattan Beach patient underwent multiple strip surgeries at other clinics. Unfortunately, these procedures did little to repair his hair. Plus, they left him with a number of obvious, visible scars. These surgeries also depleted his available head donor follicles. The patient had hair loss on the crown of the head, and heavy erosion of the hairline and temple regions. After hearing about Dr. Umar and his advanced FUE method, he decided to consult him about a Dr.UGraft ™ hair transplant reparative surgery. He not only wanted to repair bad hair transplant results from his previous procedures but also to restore his entire head of hair. Because Dr. Umar designed his very own specialized technology to safely and reliably remove large quantities of body hair donor grafts, the patient decided this was the best course of action to take.
Hair Transplant Nightmare Ends Thanks to Beard and Body Hair | Dr U
Many people, (like the patient shown here) mistakenly think that hair transplantation is a simple, straightforward process, transferring follicles from one area to another. However, there are numerous details to consider for the whole picture. And when overlooked, results can be disastrous, requiring additional and expensive repair procedures to fix these errors.
Can a Dr.UGraft™ Hair Transplant Really Work? Before Photos of Patient Needing A Bad Hair Transplant Repair:
Despite having a depleted donor head donor supply, this patient still hoped to achieve the appearance of a full head of hair to cover the poor growth yield and other mistakes of his past surgeries. He was relieved to know that unlike the tools and techniques of other FUE clinics, the Dr.UGraft™ extraction technology made it possible to restore an entire head of hair through the use of other donor areas on the body.
The photos below show the patient’s hair loss state prior to treatment by Dr. Umar.

After meeting with the patient, Dr. Umar recommended a custom approach using his advanced FUE Dr.UGraft™ hair transplant reparative surgery using 11000 Dr.UGrafts™.
Dr. Umar selected donor hair grafts from the head, nape of the neck and the beard region on the patient. Because of the extensive work needed to fix the bad hair transplant, Dr. Umar also recommended dividing the overall hair restoration procedure over several surgery sessions for the best results. The inserted grafts would restore hair to the head, rebuild the hairline and temple region and cover the linear scarring from previous hair transplants.

Seven months after his final surgery, the patient felt wonderful about his new head of hair. Dr. Umar used the nape grafts to create a soft, natural looking hairline, while the beard grafts created density and thickness at the crown. They also camouflaged his scar from the previous surgery. Even better, the Dr.UGraft ™ left no visible hair transplant scar, even in the donor regions. The patient couldn’t “be happier” with the results!

Dr.UGraft™ Hair Transplant Reparative Surgery- Frequently Asked Questions:
How does the Dr.UGraft system compare to other FUE systems for bad hair transplant repair procedures?
Dr.UGraft ™ technology is specially designed to extract all types of hair follicles from the scalp and body areas. If a patient has abundant quantities of thick beard and/or body hair, they can benefit from extra reserves of donor hair for their surgery. In cases where head hair grafts are very limited, additional donor grafts make it possible to create fuller, more comprehensive forms of coverage. Other FUE systems use standard punch tools which are only adequate for extracting head donor hair.
Is a body hair transplant necessary for concealing a hair restoration scar?
Not necessarily. If you still have sufficient quantities of scalp hair, it may be possible to create your donor pool for repairing your scar using head hair only. Body hair may be considered in cases where more grafts are needed to conceal the scar and achieve your coverage goals.
