Eyebrow Hair Restoration Surgery for Los Angeles, Manhattan Beach Patient

Full, thick eyebrows frame the face and enhance your natural features. In this case, a patient from Manhattan Beach wanted fuller, thicker eyebrows. An eyebrow transplant is a great option for those who are tired of filling their brows in with pencils, powders, and gels. These procedures are performed with real hair, usually from the nape of the neck. The results look more natural than pencils, powders, or gels because the patient’s own real hair is used, instead of pigment shading. Eyebrow hair restoration surgery also offers better long-term satisfaction compared to tattooing, since the ink can look extremely unnatural due to color fading and lack of texture. Plus, removing tattooed brows can be expensive and cause scarring.

Dr. Umar performs eyebrows transplants using Dr.UGraft ™ , an advanced form of Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE), a hair transplant technique that removes individual groupings of follicles using  punch. Using this patented technique, Dr. Umar can use hair from any part of the body to perform the eyebrow transplant. Hair is taken from the body, usually the nape of the neck, and transplanted into the eyebrow area.

The Dr.UGraft Rotor™ is one of the devices of Dr.UGraft™ set of advanced FUE technologies. It's specialized features make it possible to select more natural caliber donor hairs from the nape and other areas of the body for eyebrow hair restoration surgery.

The Dr.UPunch Rotor™ includes special design considerations that allow it to pull the tissue surrounding the follicles upwards as the rotary punch cuts in a circular motion away from the graft. It can accommodate even the sharpest hair angles, whereas typical punches will sever the graft.

Special attention during the graft insertion phase is taken to make sure that the eyebrows are symmetrical, reflect natural hair growth patterns and complement the patient’s bone structure.

Dr. Umar uses thinner, hair from the nape of the neck, legs, arms, or other parts of the body since they resemble real hair from the brows. Typically, 50 to 325 hairs are transplanted to the eyebrows for an eyebrow transplant. Special care has to be taken to ensure that the transplanted hair will grow flat against the skin, as natural eyebrows do.

The incisions heal within 7 days, and results appear in 5 months. Eyebrow transplant surgery is an outpatient procedure performed under local anesthesia.

For this case, Dr. U grafted 400 hairs from the nape of her neck to her eyebrows using his patented Dr.UGraft™ technique.

Results are shown seven months after the procedure. “Everyone compliments me on them and says they fit my face,” the patient said. She is thrilled with the outcome.

Since the hair continues to grow, the patient trims her eyebrows once per week. She also has them waxed to clean up the area. However, gone are the days when she needs to fill them in with a pencil! On a daily basis, the patient doesn’t need to do any maintenance and loves her full brows.
