ISHRS 2019: Dr.U was honored to be invited as a presenting faculty member at a live ISHRS-sponsored FUE Cadaver Hands-On and Live Surgery Workshop. This April 2019 event was held on the 19th through 21st in Istanbul, Turkey, at the Acibadem University’s Anatomy Laboratory, where fixated cadavers provided an invaluable, hands-on learning experience. The FUE live training demonstration and usage of the Dr.UGraft ™ technology was one of the event’s highlights and enabled the attending doctors to experience the intelligence and intuitiveness of the revolutionary punch in action.
This workshop was organized by co-chairs Tayfun Oguzoglu MD, FISHRS and Kayhan Sahinolgu MD, FISHRS, as well as Ekrem Civas MD. In recent years, Dr.Sahinoglu reached a fantastic new milestone in his research by developing an innovative formulation that preserves cadavers so that their skin tissue retains a more lifelike texture and behaves more closely to what they would observe with actual patients. This methodology offers doctors a more optimal context for practicing hair transplant graft extraction techniques than fresh frozen cadavers.

Dr.UGraft ™ FUE Live Training, Hands-On Demonstration
The surgeons who attended this event were allowed to perform donor graft extractions using the Dr.UGraft™ Intuitive FUE Punch. The design of this device allowed them to harvest top-notch, in-tact grafts with low transection rates, despite any angulation errors concerning the actual hair growth angles.
Additionally, lessons on other topics included:

- Use of anesthesia
- Donor management
- Slit creation techniques
- Post-op, follow-up care
Attendees thoroughly enjoyed this overall FUE live-training experience, taking home more than just information alone but new skill levels directly relevant to patient treatment results.
